The Sweet Spot Between Custom-Built and DIY

Template efficiency meets strategic design, refined visuals, and messaging support

  • A semi‑custom website that begins with a Squarespace template but allows for more creative flexibility, refined visuals, and light copywriting support. Field Day will curate stock images, create custom graphics, adjust the layout, and shape your content so your site feels more unique, more intentional, and more aligned with your brand — without needing perfect copy or a rigid 1:1 match with the template.

This option blends the efficiency of a template with the polish of custom design, giving you a professional, strategically styled website without the investment of a full custom build.

    • You want a more elevated, custom‑feeling website without the cost of a fully custom build

    • You  need help refining or building upon their content, visuals, and brand messaging

    • You  want curated stock images and custom graphics to enhance their brand

    • You want a custom-looking site but doesn’t have the vision to bring it all together

And you want a website experience that delivers:

    • A strategic starting point with room to grow

    • A more custom‑feeling site with a polished, cohesive visual experience

    • Support for imperfect or evolving content

    • A balanced investment of time, money, and creative support

    • A site that feels aligned, intentional, and ready to grow with you

  • 1. Intro Call

The first step is to submit a project inquiry through the contact form. Once it’s received, your project details are reviewed to make sure the fit and timing are right. If everything aligns, we’ll connect for an intro call to get to know each other, talk through your needs, and make sure Field Day is the best teammate for your project goals — and if not, I’ll happily share referrals who might be a better fit.

    2. Custom Scope

You’ll receive a clear scope outlining deliverables, timeline, what I’ll need from you, and confirmed pricing so you know exactly what to expect.

    3. Approve + Secure Your Spot

Once you approve your scope, your 50% deposit is due along with all required questionnaires, content, and branding (text, images, logo, fonts, colors). Both must be submitted to lock in your start date.

    4. Template Selection

I’ll provide a curated list of Squarespace templates for you to choose from and purchase. My recommendations are based on your needs, design direction, and budget, but you’re always welcome to browse my trusted template collection and choose your own. Templates typically range from $200–$800 and are an additional cost paid directly through your Squarespace account.

    5. Kickoff Call

We meet for a focused 30-45 minute call to confirm your content, branding, and template selection so the restyle process is smooth and aligned.

Anyone who will give feedback during revision rounds — formally or informally — must join this call so we can align early and avoid conflicting directions during revision rounds.

    6. Template Restyle

I restyle the template using your branding, swap in your content, refine your images, and ensure everything feels cohesive and polished — while keeping the original layout intact.

    7. Review & Refinement

You’ll have two rounds of revisions to fine‑tune design, copy, and flow. After revisions, I complete final checks, optimize for mobile, and prepare everything for launch. Before your site goes live, your final 50% balance is due.

    8. Launch + Support

Your site goes live, and we meet for a walkthrough where I show you how your site works and how to make updates confidently on your own. You’ll also receive one month of post‑launch email support for minor updates (photo swaps, small text edits, etc.).

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The first step is to submit a project inquiry on the contact page.

At that time, I can give you a good idea of where you are in the queue.

Following our call, you’ll receive a custom scope outlining your deliverables, timeline, a list of what I’ll need from you, and confirmed pricing. Once you approve your scope, your 50% deposit is due along with all required materials — both must be submitted for your project to be added to the queue and to lock in a start date.

Required materials typically include an onboarding questionnaire, inspiration boards, high‑res logo files, brand assets, service descriptions, team bios and photos, brand images or stock image direction notes, and any key information or access needed for technical setup.

The goal is always to keep moving down the field. Your project timeline is outlined clearly at the start, but it depends on how quickly homework and feedback are delivered. When materials arrive on time, the process stays smooth, efficient, and right on schedule.

  • You’ll work directly with one creative partner from start to finish unless we determine that your project calls for specialized strategy or skills, such as advanced SEO frameworks or integrations. Any partnerships or hand‑offs are communicated and agreed upon as a team.

As a Squarespace Circle member, Field Day brings deeper platform knowledge and best‑practice guidance to your project. This means your site is built with long‑term ease in mind and handed over in a way that makes updates simple and manageable for you.

    Learn More: About

  • Squarespace is Field Day’s platform of choice because it gives service‑based businesses a clean, reliable, and easy‑to‑manage home online. It’s built for people who want a professional presence without the tech overwhelm. The tools you need for scheduling, blogging, email, SEO, and mobile‑friendly design are already built in, which means fewer moving parts and fewer surprise costs.

Most importantly, Squarespace makes handoff simple. When your site launches, you’re able to update text, swap photos, add pages, and manage your content without needing a designer every time. You get a site that looks polished, works beautifully, and stays manageable long after our project ends.

    • Ongoing maintenance or retainer‑style updates

    • SEO management beyond the foundational setup included in your build

    Applicable Taxes

    • After our first call, you’ll receive a clear, accurate quote so you can anticipate the full project investment

  • Here’s two ways you can save:

Signing Bonus Rate: A pay‑in‑full discount is available at the start of your project as a thank‑you for simplifying the process and accelerating momentum.

Off‑Season Rate: If your project doesn’t need to kick off right away, you can opt into a flexible start date and receive a discounted rate. This keeps my workload steady and gives you a break on pricing — a little teamwork that benefits us both. All required materials must be submitted upfront to add you to the waitlist, but a deposit isn’t due until a start date is established.

  • If you need features beyond what’s included in your package, you can easily expand your project with add‑on services. I offer discounted rates for enhancements like additional graphics, extra pages, or social media profile assets.
